You should be asking yourself the following questions for any new and/or existing investments:

  • Does this investment match my investment goals?
  • How will this investment make money? (Dividends? Interest? Capital Gains?) Specifically, what must happen for this investment to increase in value? (For example, an increase in interest rates, property values or market share?).
  • What are the total charges to purchase, maintain and sell this investment?
  • What are the specific risks with this investment? How easy would it be to sell if I needed my money right away?
  • What are the specific risks with this investment? What is the maximum I could lose? (For example, what will be the effect of changing interest rates, economic recession or stock market ups and downs?
  • How has my fund performed over the long run? Please remember that past performance is no guide to future performance.
  • What are the charges for switching funds within my portfolio?
  • What is the term of the investment?
  • How frequently will I receive policy valuations? Do I understand what the statement tells me?
  • Is the return on my investment meeting my expectations and goals? Is this investment performing as I was led to believe?
  • Have my goals changed? If so, are my investments still suitable?

Please note that these are some frequently asked questions which could be considered, the list is not exhaustive as it is dependant on the situation/circumstances of each individual.

With regards to your existing plans, once we have received your written authority, we will contact your relevant provider asking them for your full policy details. This type of information includes current valuations, plan charges, what funds you are invested in, plan projections etc.

Once this information is to hand and you have competed a "Risk Profiler" a report will be provided showing you the current valuations, charges on the policy and how your funds have been performing.

The Risk Profiler will provide you with an indication of your "attitude to risk" which we can then compare against your existing funds.

There is no charge to you for the production of this report and no obligation on whether or not you require additional advice on your polices.

What are the charges for assisting you with your plans?

A fee will not be charged for obtaining information on your existing plans and producing the initial report. Park Row’s initial consultation is free and without obligation.

What are the charges for new policies?

Charges vary depending on the level of investment, type of policy and policy term. Not all firms charge for advice in the same way.

The payment options will be discussed with you at your initial meeting and any questions you may have can be discussed. Park Row will not charge you anything until you have agreed how they are to be paid. Park Row offer the following options:

Paying by fee,

Paying by commission (or product charges),

Paying by a combination of commission and a fee.

You will be advised in full accordingly and supplied with a “Key facts – About the cost of our services”, once they have discussed these options with you.
